Not all Teach Her students are looking at big 3-year degree programs. Some have a more targeted vision that comes with a more economical price tag. In the hope that there are supporters who might like these shorter, less expensive sponsorship opportunities, it is my pleasure to introduce you to...

APRITA

Arpita was one of our first Step Up students, completing her 11th and 12th grade studies. But upon graduation, what she really wanted was a skill she could put to work for her family.

She decided on sewing and asked to be enrolled at a local sewing training center. This is a 1-year program that costs $913 for the complete training, which also includes all materials like cloth and thread.

Arpita is already enrolled and stitching like a pro, finishing first in her class in the first school competition. Any armchair seamstresses out there who might like to support this kind of ambition?

JIMIKA

I’ve known Jimika since she was 5-years old and I’ve watched her grow up into the bright hardworking young woman she is today.

Jimmy originally thought she wanted to study law, but she changed her mind, worked for a few years, and now dreams of working in the airline industry. To get her foot in the door, a 1-year certificate course is helpful, and so she’s enrolled at Frankfinn Institute, one of the more respected training programs for this kind of thing in Dehradun.

“If I get the opportunity, I hope to one day travel the world,” Jimika says, which is something I can 100% relate to.

Anyone else love to travel or feel like helping Jimmy take flight?

SONALI

Our final student asked that her name and background only be revealed to her sponsor. For her own personal reasons, she prefers to keep her identity private, and I can respect that. Let’s call her Sonali, a name I heard recently and liked.

Sonali already has her undergraduate nursing degree and has worked professionally for three years…but she’s also seen the benefits that a Masters in Nursing can bring. It’s a two year program that will unlock doors and offer higher pay.

“My plan is to help my family in any way I can,” Sonali says. “They are working so hard and I want to help.”

With a lot of pressure on her young shoulders, perhaps there is a nurse out there…or someone knows of a nurse…who would like to help make Sonali’s dream come true. It’s 80,000 rupees per year for two years. Roughly $842 per year. $70 per month!

I'll be updating these small campaigns as we find supporters. If you'd like to be an exclusive sponsor, just reach out and let us know.
